Sizzle & Stroll

As part of our Food For Life project focus and thanks to funding from the Soil Association, we were pleased to deliver a fantastic plant based BBQ event in September, that also took in some wonderful walks through the historical places surrounding our site.

After our walkers returned from their historical stroll, they were treated to a plant based treat from our plant based BBQ, operated by chef, Tim Powell. It was a welcome reward for a good walk through the Welsh countryside and a great chance for us to demonstrate that BBQs don't have to be meat based - they can be super tasty and healthy when the meat is exchanged for plants or meat alternatives!

We served up a host of home made plant based burgers and other sizzling fayre from the BBQ between 12 and 3pm, serving refreshments and great conversation to boot... it really was a brilliant community focused event!

We even made our BBQ and smoker in true Outside Lives fashion, from an old beer barrel donated by Mold Rugby club, some old goal posts donated from Mold Alun School and floorboards from the old Rainbow Pub - a great upcycle and worked brilliantly!
