RevivOL Workshops (Activity Sheets)

The United Kingdom produces 206.456 tonnes of textile waste in a year. Out of the 3.1kg of textile waste each Briton produces every year, only 0.3kg are recycled and 0.4 kg are reused. However, 0.8kg are incinerated yearly per person and 1.7kg are disposed of in landfills.

PROJECT AIM

Our aim with this part of the project is to encourage people to think more about how they can save textiles and other waste items from landfill through reuse and repurposing, using old fabrics to create new items of clothing that not only reduce waste, but also help to tackle the culture of 'fast fashion'.

We have worked with Friends of Outside Lives, Renew Sewcials, ReSource and NikNok to bring to you a series of activity sheets that you can recreate at home to make some wonderful, eco-friendly, sustainable fabric projects that help to reduce waste and promote 'slow fashion' - giving fabrics a new lease of life rather than committing them to landfill.
