I have spent most of my working life as a fashion buyer travelling the globe and deciding what shoes little children will be wearing next season. Now I make and sell occasion cakes and cake pops, alongside being a care worker. Lucy is a long-standing friend of mine and its my pleasure to support her where I can with Outside Lives.

WHERE'S HOME?

I live in Waverton, just outside Chester with my husband Andy, daughter Scarlett and our ancient cat Tilly. I am originally from Ormskirk, Lancashire but was drawn away by my other half 15 years ago!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

My main passions are football and food. My passion for baking developed into a job but I still like to do it in my spare time. Liverpool are 'my team' and I've loved them since I was small.

As I've got older, my interest in nature and wildlife has increased and I love exploring this with my daughter. We are regular Zoo visitors and we love encouraging wildlife into our garden - we've recently spotted some Goldfinch!

WHAT DO YOU GROW?

We don't have a huge garden or a lot of time, but I try to grow things at home where I can.

Herbs, raspberries (plants donated by Lucy years ago!), salad leaves... all trial and error really! If it works one year I'll try again the next and then try something new.

I also love cooking - I make nearly everything from scratch, and recently I have introduced more vegetarian food into my diet.

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

I'm listening to Taylor swift at the moment, her new album is lovely. I also love to read but with a demanding 5 year old, it doesn't happen all that often!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON?

My favourite season is spring, I love the warm weather and sunshine but I also love the anticipation of spring, of what is to come and the new beginnings that spring brings with it. It also means I can start to get out in my garden... and start planting my fruit and veg!
